This is the e-card that I find to be the most annoying out of all of them. Maybe it’s because I work for Sallie Mae, or maybe it’s because I have half of a functioning brain and understand how the real world works. You took out student loans. You signed an agreement to pay those loans back (even if you didn’t graduate! Even if you dropped the classes 6 weeks in! Even if you stopped attending the classes the first week if you didn’t follow proper procedures! Even if you never stepped foot in that class room if you didn’t follow proper procedures!). Oh your school “lied to you”? Did you READ THE LEGAL DOCUMENTS YOU WERE SIGNING?! No? Okay then. Lesson learned. And you know what? It’s NOT that serious to Sallie Mae. We’re here to HELP you. It’s not OUR money you’re dealing with, it is the federal governments money. They WILL get their money back from you. That tax return you’re expecting in January? Nope, that just got taken to cover those loans you
let go 360+ days past due. Those pay checks you’re getting every week/bi-weekly? Looks like they just got a hell of a lot smaller because you’re getting garnished now because you let your loans go 360+ days past due. You’re in your 20’s and your credit score just TANKED because you have $20,000+ in debt that just got paid in full by the guarantor. Maybe if you ANSWER YOUR DAMN PHONE and LISTEN TO US we wouldn’t call you the 7 times a day (which by law we can). I’m not calling you because I like your ring back tone. Trust me, I hate it. I’m not calling you because I think it’s cute that you like your 3 year old set up your voice mail. That’s annoying. I’m not calling you for my health. I’d be a lot less stressed and annoyed if I didn’t HAVE to call you, actually. We can help. We have options available. If you’re willing to listen to us, we’re willing to help you.
